Kirstenbosch, Skeleton Gorge
4 hrs +
A fascinating tour of the Table Mountain National Park. 4 hours of amazing nature and wonderful views.
Starting at Kirstenbosch, our beautiful botanical gardens, the hike heads up Skeleton Gorge, the most famous ascent on the Eastern slopes.
You climb through Indigeneous forests of Giant Yellowwood trees, almost a tropical jungle, including a couple of fun ladders.
Popping out on top, after an hour or two, we are at the dams – fresh Cape mountain water.
After a rest, we take the scenic route towards Maclears Beacon, the highest point of Table Mountain. On the way you learn that much of the mountain is not flat!
Then, we are indeed on the Table Top, and continue the hike across the front face, enjoying big views of the City and Robben Island.
Finally arriving at the Upper Cableway Station and Restaurants, and a rewarding cold beer.
You may still have energy for the adrenaline pumping Abseil Africa – dope on a rope.
